Netflix is releasing Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola‘s holiday special, “A Very Murray Christmas,” the company announced Friday.
Coppola directed and co-wrote with Murray and Mitch Glazer. The special will be an homage to the classic variety show featuring Murray playing himself, as he worries no one will show up to his TV show due to a terrible snow storm in New York City.

There may be no more reliable leading actor working in Hollywood today than Bradley Cooper, who recently led Clint Eastwood's excellent, woefully misunderstood mega-hit American Sniper and provided the voice of Rocky Raccoon in some movie called Guardians of the Galaxy. This year, he's already been seen in the slightly underrated Serena and will lead both Cameron Crowe's Aloha and David ...

As a screenwriter, Alex Garland has been doing impressive work for years on films like 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and Never Let Me Go. Great Conversations: Nicolas Cage

Posted 2 weeks ago
It was August, 2005. I knocked on the double door at the Four Seasons. It opened almost immediately. "Hi, I'm Nic," he said, hand outstretched. Nicolas Cage wasn't who I expected him to be. Like all actors, he was smaller and trimmer in person than he appeared on-screen. Neatly dressed in an Armani suit, Cage also displayed none of the manic fervor in real life as had become his si ...

INHERENT VICE Blu-ray Review

Posted 3 weeks ago
Credit: collider.com
Writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s Inherent Vice came and went theatrically. Much like Spike Jonze’s Her, it seems an expensive arthouse film that didn’t connect with the public, though both were nominated for Screenplay Oscars. Vice made $8 million, while Anderson’s last film The Master only made twice as much. The filmmaker hasn’t ...

‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ Review: Carey Mulligan Gets Swept Along in a CliffsNotes Version of Thomas Hardy

Posted 3 weeks ago
Credit: thewrap.com
It’s hard to believe that a 2015 screen adaptation of an 1874 Thomas Hardy novel could be even stodgier than the 1967 movie version, but director Thomas Vinterberg‘s take on “Far From the Madding Crowd” accomplishes just that. It’s not just that Vinterberg’s work here pales next to the admittedly flawed John Schlesinger film; anyone watching this prosaic, “ ...
